Participating in the Murder of Innocent babies

I am so concerned about our Government's urge to "improve" health care, regardless of the feelings of the citizens! Here I am, a Catholic Grandmother, sitting in Kansas, feeling helpless in the knowledge that my tax dollars will be going to fund the murder of children! How can we refuse to participate in this! I don't feel that this is my country any longer. Mother Mary, pray for us!

Almost October

I can't believe I haven't Blogged since June., can you tell that I am retired? I have basically been lazying my way through summer. If I die today, they will never get the smile off of my face., I am so happy. I don't have much $ and that is hard., but I am so relieved not to be running a demanding DayCare anymore! I loved my work, and loved working with my Oldest daughter, Kimberly., and seeing my Grandson, Jacob everyday., and I miss that. I also miss some of the families I had become to close to. I was so blessed with having the Tollett family for 5 years. I miss them very much and their children even more! I get to see some of the children at Kimberly's when I am at her Daycare for whatever reason. I have to admit, it is nice to go in, love the kids and LEAVE.

I have been crocheting again, something I truely love doing., but I never had the time with working 10 hours a day, and all the responsibilites that go with running a business. I actually fixed some of my husband's blue jeans this week, they had been in a "fix it" pile for years.

Spending time with my Flock of demanding little parrots and my crazy furry Kids has been enjoyable for me. They keep me hopping, then, of course, there are our chickens and peafowl., and that's another story.

I actually read TWO books last week! I haven't read a WHOLE book in a long time. How wonderful that is~

October is upon us., this year I am looking forward to winter., for the first time in over 25 years I won't have to worry about keeping my driveway clear for my clients! I can just sit in my house, crocheting and making Chili for the winter! Nothing sounds better to me. This morning it was pretty cold when I got up., and the leaves are making a constant flutter. I am glad we got our Pool that we worked so hard to open this spring closed. Can't wait til next year, I actually swam twice this year, and hadn't been in the pool for at least 4 years., now I will have time to enjoy it..but for now...Fall is upon us!

A Swimming Pool Nightmare

We found that our above ground pool's winter cover had leaked dirty leaf water during the winter, had a heavy mess on the cover and could not get it off the pool. Sooooo, we had to cut the cover and dip nasty sludge out of the balled up liner. It took two days, and Dean's energy to clean it.

Hope the children/grandchildren appreciate it!

A summer wren family has taken residence in a candle holder that sticks in the ground, next to my pond. There were six eggs, and, as far as I can tell...six babies. It has been fun watching Daddy bring Mommy food over the past couple of weeks., now..here we are!

We sorrow today at the loss of our friend, Donnie Moore. Donnie was 26 years old. I had him in preschool. Such a wonderful little boy, he was always very special to me. Two years ago I get a call from him "Miss Gail do you remember me? I have a daughter! Will you take care of her?"

We have both of his daughters, age 3 and 1...yesterday Donnie passed away due to a heart attack.

We pray for Donnie and his family...

Dandalion puff ball!

In looking at this picture is see a sure sign of spring! Do you see it? No, not the Robin...the puff ball of the first dandalion. I must have missed the flower part, which must have happened during the beautiful spring like weather we had a few days ago.
No wonder the Robin looks confused!

Confused Robin in March 28 snow

This little Robin has been wondering around in the yard with a confused look on it's face. Go figure! Winter would have to rear it's ugly, frozen face again.
Party is off til next week, hopefully it will be spring then.

Spring is Springing

These pictures were taken on Sunday, March 22 in my Habitat. If you stand outside and stay completely quiet you can almost hear things growing. The purple flower is one of many that my oldest Grandson, Cody, and I planted when he was 3 years old., he is now 14. I am so glad to see Spring come this year., the winter wasn't a bad one, but it just seemed so long to me this year. I am looking forward to this Spring.

Speaking of Multiple Sclerosis..I have been having a hard time lately with pain. My Dr. gave me some pain meds but they don't help. I hurt everywhere but my hair. Pathetic, huh, well actually my hair hurts sometimes too. LOL...I have an appointment with my Multiple Sclerosis Specialist at KU Med Center next week..maybe she can offer some suggestions. Hoping everyone will check out the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's web page to learn more about this fun disease.

Henry Dean on Skype with Grandma Gail

This is Henry Dean talking to me on SKYPE, how fun is that?

OH MY GOSH! WE FOUND SKYPE!

This is my daughter, Allison, and Granddaughter, Josie, talking to me on Skype! {okay..I admit that Josie was more or less just gooing to me since she is only 3 months old.LOL} I have to share with anyone that will listen the new thing that we have found! Skype is a program that you download free that, when combined with a web cam and speakers, you can talk to your family and friends online FACE TO FACE FREE! I have got to talk to my Grandson and Granddaughter, Henry and Josie and actually "play" with Henry and his blocks. Last night I talked to my best friend from High School, Bonnie and her son for quite a while. I highly recommend it to everyone! If you get it, put me as a contact and call me., it is WONDERFUL!

My Frozen garden pond..

frozen garden pond..
These pictures are of my garden pond in January, 2009. The first was taken a week before the second., the first being the one on the right. The picture is of the "bubbler that I run during the winter to keep the pond from freezing solid., because of my fish. The water is still running under the ice. I for one am really weary of winter! It has been below freezing here for over a week. I carry around my Heat Pillow that I got at a craft fair last year. It is filled with lavendar and other smells, and when you heat it in the microwave it is warm and smells wonderful. Takes my mind off of the fact that we are all freezing. Hope Spring comes fast, we will see what the Ground Hog says next week.

Weigh in day for the Parrots

I always weigh my parrots on January 1...well, my Congo African Grey, Einstien, decided that he didn't want to get on the scales today., even with a little begging from me, and a special treat.
